Just incase you didn’t know, LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking community. I’m a huge fan of LinkedIn for many reasons, many related to Reid Hoffman and their incredibly well put together product which is the case 99% of the time. Today’s criticism against LinkedIn is LinkedIn’s “People you May Know” module which all users see once they log into LinkedIn.
The problems with LinkedIn’s “People you May Know” are:

The results displayed are horrible. LinkedIn needs to take this module offline and spend time optimizing this algorithm before re-enabling.
The module is in far to prominent of a location on page. Take a note from Facebook a reduce the prominence of this module by moving the module to the lower area of the page.
Users are not given the option to remove the module from the page. The new Internet is all about personalization and relevancy and LinkedIn isn’t doing either - this module is a perfect example of giving users a personalized experience or relevant results.
